interface II

So we're into the sixth version of my blog after the last version hung around for a year or so.

Now, a bit of info on this image. This photo was taken one lovely spring afternoon, featuring the iconic Old Well from the UNC Chapel Hill campus. I would like to think of this image as a tribute to my time in UNC Chapel Hill, the awesome friends I made and the memories I now hold dear.

A milestone in my life indeed.

I've dropped the tagboard cos its useless and taking eons to load. But thanks to Angela who helped me set it up, I still do like and will miss the pink interface.

So yeah, it's the sixth one you fellas!

Yours.

"I miss clubbing, dancing and having fun with you!" I said.

"I just miss YOU!" was the reply.

That has got to be the sweetest message of the semester.

Seasons change with the pass of time, a force I can hardly hold back.

Just five days barely after the Spring equinox, things are starting to change. The trees once again starting to dress themselves with soft leaves, and flowers campus-wide abloom. It was almost as if the significant cross over the equator brought the sun into the dominion of a deprived northern hemisphere starved of warmth and life.

I can feel Spring coming - I am rejuvenated and ready to continue and finish this journey I've set out in the depths of winter. And in the end, I know the summer is waiting for me, welcoming me back in his warm familiar embrace.

It's all about moving on, isn't it? For that I need courage, for that I need time.

After four days, I bid New York a fond farewell, knowing probably that this would be the last time I'm here till fate brings me back in the future.

But I'm glad this trip was made for I saw a very local side to this big city, discovering districts less touristy and having pretty much a blast.

W Hotel was sleek, chic and totally cool. Eating was absolutely good - from the renowned Iron Chef's Jap restaurant Morimoto, to the super healthy microbiotic food (i forgot the name) and organic Italian restaurant Quartino, to the simple bowl of tau hwey in Chinatown, inter alia, inter alia. Broadway craving was more than satisfied by Mary Poppins, which really brought me back into Ishiguro's transient floating world all over again. The mega A&F store was an experience all together.

And not to mention traveling with an awesome friend.

New York - the city of wonderment and bewilderment, opportunities and choices. I wish I had more thoughts about this city.

I'm sorry I can't be with you at a time like this, but know that my heart, thoughts and prayers are with you. Be strong, be well.

In other news, I'm finally back from Orlando, Florida. I'm thirsting - for so many things.

La Nouba was all that Cirque was made to be - artistic, bold and inspiring.

The amazingly choreographed acts coupled with a french crooner within Cirque's distinctive Grand Chapiteau was quite an evening to remember.

It was everything I expected and a definite highlight of this Spring Break trip.

This is really what Singapore needs - a creative and out of the box approach to the arts finished with style and sophistication. We're kinda there, but not really there yet - if you know what I mean.

It feels great to wake up at 11am, miss breakfast hours at Macs and know that your day is only beginning.

Breaks are a good thing, they take you off whatever issues you have momentarily, kinda like a painkiller which runs through that blood stream giving relief from mortal pain.

So here I am in Orlando, Florida, sunny state of the South.

Today's a free day for me, the rest are off to the Space Center which I am not superly interested in. It's funny how my time in the States is halfway through, I really can't believe how time is such an insidious force which pushes us forward, moving on and leaving behind when sometimes we do not want to.

I feel I am learning more about myself and the people around me each day, learning how to cope, manage and maneuver relationships now and past. Part of me misses and wants to go home, part of me wants to stay on for more.

Tonight I'm headed off for Cirque Du Soleil's resident show at Downtown Disney, La Nouba. Some acts I've seen before but I'm really looking forward to it cos I don't think that I'll catch this show anytime soon (well of course, they don't tour). And anything by Cirque is definitely worth the price.

And then there's Disneyworld for the next 3 days. I do need some utopian happiness.

Is there someplace far away, someplace where all is clear
Easy to start over with the ones you hold so dear
Or are you left to wonder, all alone, eternally
This isn't how it's really meant to be.

It's taking a toll on me, it always has and will be.
