interface II

So we're into the sixth version of my blog after the last version hung around for a year or so.

Now, a bit of info on this image. This photo was taken one lovely spring afternoon, featuring the iconic Old Well from the UNC Chapel Hill campus. I would like to think of this image as a tribute to my time in UNC Chapel Hill, the awesome friends I made and the memories I now hold dear.

A milestone in my life indeed.

I've dropped the tagboard cos its useless and taking eons to load. But thanks to Angela who helped me set it up, I still do like and will miss the pink interface.

So yeah, it's the sixth one you fellas!

Yours.

And so, Jackie, Yvonne and I brought the girls from University of North Carolina out to explore Singapore on their summer program here.
1
This is Golden Landmark Shopping Centre, and one thing in common is, it was all our first visit here. Honestly, I never knew this place ever existed, almost like it was Ctrl+C from some neighbouring country and Ctrl+V here. Our new friends (L to R) , Liz and Elby.

Liz and I somewhere near Arab Street. Liz is quite special cos she loves sports and is always game for a new experience. I love her forthright demeanor and and down to earth attitude. I do not think we find many Singaporean girls like that.
Elby is very pleasant and she is of Saudi descent. She has a sincerity that is quite the opposite of what we think of Americans.

Yes, we brought them to do what Singaporeans do best, soccer betting, legalised of course. It was England vs Paraguay that night and most of the girls bought England to win, which they won of course, all $6.87 of it.
13
One interesting conversation came up as I asked them why they chose Singapore for summer program. Quite candidly, they admitted that the only reason why they came on this trip was because it is free for UNC students.
They had no idea where Singapore was and even had to look up the world map to see where we are sitting. Funny how far we've come as a nation, yet still a stranger to the world.
17
Thai Express for dinner. I asked them the biggest misconception they had about Singapore and they told me that they were so mistaken when they thought Singapore was like Indonesia or Thailand, and did not expect the city to be so vibrant and modern. Well at least they did not think we are a province in China.
18
Afterwhich we chilled out at Harry's at Holland V, and watching the England match at the same time. The predominant expat crowd at Harry's made the atmosphere really warm as many rooted for England.
The night ended off on the right note as we adjourned from Harry's to where else but Wala Wala to rock on with Shirlyn.

The tour guides. And we all agreed that it was one of the most well spent Saturdays we've had in ages.
