interface II

So we're into the sixth version of my blog after the last version hung around for a year or so.

Now, a bit of info on this image. This photo was taken one lovely spring afternoon, featuring the iconic Old Well from the UNC Chapel Hill campus. I would like to think of this image as a tribute to my time in UNC Chapel Hill, the awesome friends I made and the memories I now hold dear.

A milestone in my life indeed.

I've dropped the tagboard cos its useless and taking eons to load. But thanks to Angela who helped me set it up, I still do like and will miss the pink interface.

So yeah, it's the sixth one you fellas!

Yours.

This is my new favourite haunt in the library. The SMC, also known as the Singapore-Malaysia Collection. Its is a glassed up reference corner in the library, with every possible book, newspaper article, newsletter or publication about Singapore (and malaysia of course). I love doing research in here cos its really quiet and allows me to leave the bustling footsteps of N U S behind. Also, the SMC has an amazing collection of all I want to know about Singapore's urban development. Coming to the SMC is like entering a treasure trove of information, much to a urban geographer's delight I must say.

Just look at the volumes of ancient (well not really lah) books they have. Its really a hard-to-describe feeling flipping through these pages of antiquity and history, taking in the trends and fancies of an era gone by, and you begin to what what generations after you would say of our time, our memories and our way of life today. I've seen amazing photos of old colonial Singapore and eye opening publications and offical documents I'd never thought I'll see.

I know it says Friday 4:04pm, but it is actually Saturday 8:20pm as I write this in the SMC. My research for two papers have found me here almost everyday, but I do not seem to mind at all. But I am hungry now, time for dinner.

nimgnoy let the night fall at 4:04 PM
